No date yet, but...
Thanks to johno, I've been alerted to the existence of this community, so I figured I should mention ljconvention.

I'm in the very, very early (i.e. "Are you out of your mind?"-to-fact-finding) stages of planning what will hopefully be a really, really big LJ party. It'd be a ways off, probably about a year down the road in all truth, if it were to be done right. But, I'm thinking that we should all get together. All of LiveJournal. Some folks that aren't on LiveJournal wouldn't hurt to have around either, but it'd be centered on us LJ folks.

Again, this is still mostly in "pipe dream" mode, but I think it's got potential. Feel free to ask questions, stop by the community, join, lend advice, suggestions, criticism, tell me I'm nuts or "going about this all wrong", and most importantly, volunteer if you think this something you'd like to help out with.

With BayCon coming up in the SF Bay Area, I created some LJ name badges:

LJ Badges

Feel free to link to them and use them at any event where LJers may be found.

Joining the bandwagon
Okay, we are starting a little poll to see who is interested in going to an LJ bash in Europe (venue/date to be decided if there is enough interest)

San Francisco LJ Bash
I have scheduled the sfljbash for either July 18th - 22nd or July 25th-29th. Basically, we need to make sure that the SF LJ Bash doesn't conflict with the LiveJournal Camp at Burning Man at the end of August, which will attract a lot of the local crowd.

What I am concerned about, however, is a potential conflict with Seattle's LJ Bash. The Bay Area is pretty much ground zero as far as technology is concerned, so I expect to have some very special guests showing up at the event, and maybe some outright cooperation and participation from other big community sites on the Internet. Ideally, some of the people in Seattle will come down to San Francisco and some of the people in S.F. will go up to Seattle... it might even be a good idea to actively encourage such a thing, if we could.

Even though we don't have an exact date set, thought I'd make a post here. The Seattle LJ Bash will be held sometime this summer in either late July or early August. The exact date will be dependent on a few things -- namely the availability of certain facilities.

I realize there are other bashes being planned for right around this time, but I'm hoping everyone who wants to attend will be able to. I'm going to at least try and make it to the torontoljbash, even if it kills me.

I will hopefully know more details after this weekend, or shortly thereafter. So I will post those in the seattleljbash community as well as here. Thanks.

Currently settling details, so no hard dates or site yet, aiming for mid-July.
